Lompoc, (pronounced LOM-POKE), is located on scenic Pacific Coast Highway, 55 miles north of Santa Barbara; downtown Lompoc is just 8 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The Lompoc Valley is also often referred to as the “Valley of Flowers” and the city is home to an annual flower festival that brings people from miles around. Lompoc is notable for its location adjacent to Vandenberg Air Force Base, the nation's premier polar launch site. The Air Force Base is home to five launch complexes and one commercial spaceport and has been the keystone of the continued strength of the post-War economy in Lompoc. Lompoc has just over 40,000 residents who love to call it home, for the great scenery, temperate year-end temperatures, great schools as part of the Lompoc Unified School District and so much more.
